When the PetSafe ® Indoor Bark Control is in the vicinity of a barking dog, a built-in microphone registers the barking. The device then automatically emits an ultrasonic tone that dogs can hear, but most people cannot. The dog, irritated by the high-pitched tone, should stop barking. Over time, the dog will also associate its barking with the unpleasant tone. If the dog stops barking, the ultrasonic sound will also stop. This automatic system works within a radius of up to 8 m.
