Description

Dr. Stähler Vole Bait Ratzia

Dr. Stähler Vole Bait RATZIA acts quickly and safely against voles (also known as water voles).

Vole Bait RATZIA combines a well-tried active ingredient with a proven, freeze-dried carrot-based bait. Soil moisture causes the bait to swell, making it particularly attractive to voles, just like fresh carrots. Due to this bait quality, year-round application is possible. To avoid risks to humans and the environment, follow the instructions for use.

Application: Open vole holes in a few places. With the help of the cap, insert bait as deep as possible into the passages. The measuring cell in the cap holds 5 g. Place the bait under cover, cover the passage opening with a tuft of grass, a stone slab or similar.

Zinc phosphide baits such as the vole bait Ratzia develop their effect like all poison baits by the fact that the voles are attracted by an attractive bait shape (e.g. carrots) and eat the bait.

The effect is caused by the release of hydrogen phosphide from the ingested zinc phosphide in the stomach of the animals. This only happens because of the very acidic stomach environment. The hydrogen phosphide is absorbed through the digestive tract of the rodents, enters the cells and has a toxic effect on the respiratory and energy metabolism. The respiratory enzyme is blocked and the mitochondria are damaged. In the process, no hydrogen phosphide is released into the environment, since, on the one hand, only very small amounts of active ingredient are required to kill the rodents during oral ingestion and, on the other hand, the hydrogen phosphide is rapidly degraded in the tissues of the animals even after their death.
