What to look out for with 230 V heating cables:
- always attach the heating cable to the underside of the pipe
- the water pipe must be earthed
- 230 V heating cables must be plugged in and connected to a power supply with a circuit breaker (FI switch 30 mA).
- The heating cables must not be shortened and should therefore already be ordered in the correct length.
- Remaining lengths can be wound around the pipe in coils (note that a coil spacing of at least 15 mm must be maintained here).
- Do not bend the heating cable and observe the max. bending radius of approx. 50 mm.
- The heating cables can be fixed to the pipe with insulating tape or aluminium tape.
- When used on plastic pipes, the pipe must be wrapped with aluminium tape before the heating cable is laid.
- the pipe and the heating cable should be insulated with an insulation of at least 13 mm
- The thermostat of the heating cable should be placed at the coldest position of the pipe.
- the thermostat must be only moderately insulated
- do not use 230 V heating cables in the browsing area of animals
- the installation must be carried out by a qualified specialist in accordance with VDE0100.
